Born at Alfred, Ontario on February 16, 1940. Primary studies at Oblate Juniorate of the Sacred Heart in Ottawa from 1954 to 1960. Studied Philosophy and Theology at Ottawa and Saint Paul’s Universities. Ordained to the priesthood at Vankleek Hill, Ontario on December 17, 1966. Missionary among the Native People in the Dioceses of Amos, Rouyn-Noranda and Timmins from 1967 to 1991. - Named Bishop of Moosonee on December 5, 1991 and consecrated at Moosonee on March 29, 1992 by Bishop Jules Leguerrier, Bishop Emeritus of Moosonee. Appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Hearst on July 18, 2006. Officially in function since October 4, 2006. Bishop Cadieux remains always Bishop of Moosonee. Elected Bishop of Hearst on July 25, 2007. Installed as Bishop of Hearst on September 28, 2007, by the Most Rev. Terrence Prendergast, Archbishop of Ottawa. The Diocese of Hearst and Moosonee are united together in the person of the Bishop.
